7 Chakras In Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini is a Sanskrit word that means a life force or spiritual energy. It is located at the base of the spine in every human body. Kundalini yoga helps you to awaken this energy and activate all the chakras. Kundalini awakening is an experience that enhances psychic abilities and offers spiritual consciousness. According to Tantra traditions, there are 7 major energy chakras located in the human body. Each chakra represents a different color, and element, and is present in different areas of the body. These chakras are responsible for emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

Seven chakras are Muladhara (Root Chakra), Svadhisthana (Sacral Chakra), Manipura (Solar Plexus), Anahata (Heart Chakra), Vishuddha (Throat Chakra), Ajna (Third Eye Chakra), and Sahasrara (Crown). The Muladhara is the foundation of Kundalini energy and the awakening process starts from this chakra. After that, the energy rises upwards through the Svadhisthana. Swadhisthana is the center of pleasure, sensuality, and creativity. Unbalanced or blocked svadhisthana will lead to anxiety, depression, addiction, sexual dysfunction, and other issues.

Then, the energy flows to the Manipura chakra. It is associated with digestion, metabolism, and energy levels. Balance manipura to feel empowered, confident, and motivated. Anahata offers joy and gratitude in our lives. Blocked Anahata will lead to emotional, physical, and respiratory problems like depression, loneliness, heart problems, etc. Vishuddha is located in the middle of the neck which relates to communication, self-expression, and creativity. Ajna is located in the middle of your forehead and denotes inner knowledge, spiritual insight, and intuition. Sahasrara is the crown of the chakra and is linked to cosmic elements. It states the spiritual work and awareness.

The caring and knowledgeable teachers, including one from the Living Yoga School, ensured a quality learning experience. Asana classes were excellent, though adjustments varied between the 100h and 200h groups. The school is responsive to feedback, making improvements like changing a challenging anatomy teacher.
