You could also travel by train (drive from the airport to the New Delhi train station, take the train to Haridwar, and drive from Haridwar to Rishikesh). The bus is an inexpensive mode of transportation, but it’s awkward and difficult for first-time visitors,

New Delhi should be your point of entry as the closest and easiest airport for you to get to. If this is your first trip to India, catch a train to Dehradun, a city not far away. It's only a 30-minute drive from Dehradun, so you won't have to go through a lot of trouble.
Yes, if you let us know ahead of time, we can help you get to Rishikesh straight from the airport, bus station, or train station. When you get to Rishikesh, we'll help you figure out how to walk the short distance to our school.
You need to make it here at least one day prior to the start of the course to be involved in the opening. The first day of the course will be doing yoga. Graduation is the last day of the course so you will leave one day after the course completes.

During the course, you'll have to read a few books. You can choose to start before you get to school or after you get there.
We don't have any brand-new yoga mats, but you are welcome to take one if it works for you. If not, please bring your own. If you don't have enough room in your bags, that's okay too. There are lots of stores nearby where you can easily and cheaply buy yoga mats.

We promise to teach you from the very basics of yoga through all of its different parts, so you don't need to have any experience to join the YTTC.
Yes, in an emergency, but you'll need to inform the teachers first. However, all classes are important, and skipping more classes might affect your overall performance. If you are ill or not feeling well, then you are welcome to skip the class.
All of the teachers are qualified as Yogis. Some have master's degrees in yoga studies and others have master's degrees in other subjects. All teachers have a Yoga Alliance certificate. They are skilled and experienced. You can watch their teaching style in demo classes or on our social media platform.
With your daily plan, you'll have some breaks. Sunday will be your free day, so you'll have time to explore. We might plan a weekend excursion during your stay. However, you will not be able to join a second course during this yoga teacher training.
It is best to wear white clothes during opening and graduation ceremonies. Try not to wear black during yoga classes. Wearing modest clothes is strongly suggested. Your clothes should not affect your motion.
Most likely, English is not their first language because they are all from different parts of the world. The classes are simple to understand, and the teachers will help you with anything. Yes, you will get clean, filtered water at any time, for free. We do not offer packed water bottles, but you can purchase them from the front desk.
We hired a dedicated team to make sure that every meal at the school is made from fresh ingredients as an extra safety measure. It's pretty safe to eat out at Rishikesh places when you're not at school. Street foods should not be eaten if your stomach is sensitive.
The risk of getting Malaria in Rishikesh is very low. You shouldn't worry about getting a shot because it's not common in this area.
Yes, there are services equivalent to hospitals in the West in India. They might not be the same brand, but you can still find what you need here.
Should you become ill, injured, or require medical help, we will either care for you or evacuate you to a Western-style hospital, whichever option is most appropriate for you. If that’s the case, we’ll work with you to think of other ways to complete the study.
The coldest months are December through February when it can go down to 15 to 26 C: Bring warm clothing if doing the course between December and early March.
April through August is hot and wet, so wear light cotton clothes as it can be as hot as 40 degrees. The wet season ends in September. But if you’re visiting during these months, pack an umbrella or a jacket.
From October to March, the weather in Rishikesh can be warm or cold, so you should bring thick clothes, jackets, and other warm items. In general, the temperature is between 32 and 33 C.
The post is right next to our school, a 5-meter walk away. There is also a police station right next to us. The area is safe because we have CCTV cams watching 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The shops around the corner from our yoga school have most of the everyday things you will need during your trip to India or are close enough to be the same. You should remember to bring any unique items that you can't live without, like a certain personal care item or your country's favorite snack.
Go ahead and apply for a visa, but make sure it’s only one type or you'll get confused — a tourist visa. Your travel to India has to be for a journey or tourism, similar to yoga or Ayurveda vacation in Rishikesh or monument tourism in Taj Mahal in Agra. For a tourist visa,an invitation letter is not required. So whatever you do, DO NOT say you’re going to a yoga class on your visa application form! This will keep things simple.
If you sign up for our course, you CANNOT get a study or yoga visa. Here are the ways to get in touch with the Indian ambassador in your country. Most of the time, the date a visa expires is given from the day it is granted. Please check with the office in question. Plan to get your visa at least two or three weeks before you leave for your trip.
No, You can only use a credit card to pay for your reservation. You can pay the rest of the fees in cash or with TCs. There are additional fee of 3 to 5% if you pay using your credit card. To get cash in Rishikesh, you can also use your Master, Visa, or Electron debit card. We suggest you to pay your remaining fees in cash.
You don't have to pay extra because our school fees cover your food and accommodation. Your shared room will have a bathroom, running water 24 hours a day, a hot water heater, a bathing shower, a closet, and other basic facilities. But, if you wish to upgrade your room and book private room, then it costs additonal $150 to $200. Same goes for AC and other premium facilities.
Yes, of course. If there are any personal problems, we can move the times of your course back. The course fees paid in advance are non-refundable. Students can only join us on different days in an emergency.
Private housing costs an extra $150 USD for a 200-hour course and $250 USD for a 300-hour course. However, you must confirm your room options before you arrive here. Living Yoga School only offers limited seats for the course. We have limited private and shared rooms.
